Loreburn Archers

We are a small but very well known target archery club situated in Dumfries, south west Scotland.

Target Archery Club
Dumfries

Our club includes many experienced and extremely knowledgeable archers. Over the years the club has hosted some top level archers, from Scottish and British Champions right through to an Olympic Gold medal winner.

If you are interested in archery and want to have a go, the club holds a 3 week beginners’ course once a year. We also attend some local galas and fun days throughout the summer where we host our Come-and-Try sessions.

We have a members section that is for Loreburn Archers Members only where they can find useful policies, documents, AGM minutes and links to coaching hints and tips.

Beginners Course

If the membership numbers allow it, we will try and run a 3 week beginners’ course one a year. During the course you will get one to one tuition on how to master the basics of the sport and the club’s equipment. If you are interested in archery and becoming a member of Loreburn Archers, then the beginner’s course is the best way to get involved.

The course usually runs at the start of September. You will have full use of the club’s equipment and will be taught the basics of shooting correctly and safely. Join the waiting list today and we will be in touch if a space becomes available.

Come and Try

Experienced senior members of the club organise and run archery Come-and-Try sessions at galas, fêtes and charity events. Unfortunately we are not able to do weddings, parties or other private events.

For insurance purposes, these Come-and-Try sessions need to be booked in advance by the Event organiser. The Event site may require a visit by club members prior to the day to ensure a suitable, safe, roped-off area has been set aside for shooting.
